The Tennant M17 is a battery sweeper-scrubber that sweeps and scrubs in one pass. Its scrub deck comes in two versions: twin 9 in cylindrical brushes or twin 20 in disks. The sweeping section is offered as Dual Force Sweeping or Direct Throw, each with 20 in side brooms.

Variants and what to check
Before ordering, find out three things about the machine. First, is the scrub deck cylindrical (two 40 in brushes) or disk (two 20 in brushes or pad drivers)? Second, is the sweeping system Dual Force Sweeping (36 in sand wedge brooms, also sold as a two-brush set) or Direct Throw (a single 34 in spiral broom)? Third, does it carry the 13 in side scrub brush? Each scrub position comes in polypropylene, nylon or super abrasive. The parts sheet gives the side broom as 20 in (510 mm) and the spec sheet as 520 mm.
What to send us for a quote
- Outer diameter of the brush or pad driver, measured across the bristle tips.
- The drive hub on top: clutch-plate type, number of lugs, or the hole pattern — a clear photo is usually enough.
- Trim length (how far the bristles stick out of the block) and the current fill: polypropylene, nylon or abrasive grit.

- Both decks exist. Tennant lists 40 in cylindrical scrub brushes and 20 in disk scrub brushes (with matching pad drivers) for the M17, so check which deck your machine has.
- Why are there two different M17 main sweep brooms?
- The M17 is offered with Dual Force Sweeping, which uses 36 in sand wedge brooms, or with Direct Throw, which uses a 34 in spiral broom (1231527).
- What side broom does the M17 use?
- A 20 in polypropylene disk sweep brush, 1225549, the same part number Tennant lists for the S16 sweeper.
