The 8 in Crimped Steel Wire Wheel (Bench) is a bench-mounted brushing wheel made from crimped carbon steel wire. It is used for removing rust, paint, and weld spatter and for general surface preparation, with the crimped wire flexing to reach uneven profiles while it strips contaminants from metal. The wheel is 8 in in diameter, uses 0.012 in carbon steel wire, and is rated to a maximum of 4500 RPM; a multi-bushing arbor adapts it to spindle bores from 1/2 to 2 in. This 8-inch crimped carbon-steel wire wheel runs 0.012 in wire and is rated to 4500 RPM, sized for light-to-medium rust, paint, and weld-spatter removal on a bench grinder. Crimped (wavy) wire flexes more than knotted wire, giving a softer, more controllable cut that's less likely to gouge the base metal.
The multi-bushing arbor (1/2–2 in) fits most bench grinders without a separate adapter purchase — confirm your grinder's spindle size against that range before ordering.
