The Scarab Magnum is Scarab's heavy-duty single-engine truck-mounted sweeper: the Magnum 72 has a 7.2 m3 hopper for 15-18 t chassis and the Magnum 82 an 8.2 m3 hopper for 18 t-plus chassis. Like the Merlin it combines a trailed channel brush and a swivelling widesweep brush, with optional dual sweep and, on the Magnum 82, a side-sliding auxiliary channel brush.

Variants and what to check

Magnum 82 machines can carry up to three channel brushes (standard, dual-sweep opposite side, and the optional sliding auxiliary brush mounted ahead of the standard one), so count the arms before ordering. Two different 3-hole/295 mm brooms are listed (D 400/600 and D 400/640 wooden body), plus a 4-hole/282 mm type; check the plate and outside diameter of the broom you are replacing. Tilting brush and 'Vari brush' options change the arm, not necessarily the broom.

What to send us for a quote

  • Gutter broom: outer diameter across the bristle tips, plate / base diameter and the bolt pattern or quick-change mount.
  • Main broom: overall length, outer diameter and core; for wafer brooms the wafer OD × ID and the drive-pin position.
  • Current fill — poly, flat or crimped steel wire, or a mix — and whether the broom is left- or right-hand.
  • Your machine model (Scarab Magnum) and, if you have it, the OEM part number from the old brush.

Frequently asked questions

How wide does a Scarab Magnum 82 sweep?
Scarab quotes 2465 mm in single sweep, 3400 mm in simultaneous dual sweep and 3900 mm with the side-sliding auxiliary brush option.
Which gutter broom fits the Magnum?
Replacement listings show a 3-hole, 295 mm bolt-circle flat-wire disc (Scarab ref 021734, D 400/600 mm) for the Magnum, plus the shared Magnum & Merlin brooms; match hole count and bolt circle to your arm.
Does the Magnum use a cylindrical brush?
Its widesweep brush works across the front between the channel brush and nozzle; its dimensions are not published, so it is built to your measured sample.
